2015 NZ Masters Championships

19 - 20 September Lake Ruataniwha

Our presence at the 2015 Masters Nationals highlighted the many positive developments Union has initiated over the last few years: a growing membership at all levels of masters rowing, the acquisition of new plant and great club spirit. Our very good results attest to the commitment of all crews involved, but what matter most to me was how everybody contributed to making the regatta the success it was.

Thank you especially to our coach Jim Little, and the fellow members of the racing committee, Mike Fowler and Tanja McDonald. Thank you also to Rosalie and Dale Maher for making their place available for our most enjoyable get-together on Saturday night, and to our supporters, young and not quite so young. We will build on these positive experiences and I look forward to our future participation at national and international events.

It was a regatta of contrasting days as the photos show! Sunday delivered perfect cool conditions, but Saturday was a struggle for much of the day with temperatures that would not have been out of place on a skifield.
